The incredible spinner

Our oldest has been talking about fidget spinners for weeks now.  Everything from subtle hints, comparing them to rims on tires, and just the normal everyday “I really want one, and everyone else has one” spiel.

I wasn’t against them at all like he thought, I just have more important things, like electricity to pay for.   On the contrary I told him it was an excellent idea for him and his younger brother especially to help with anxiety and meltdowns.

So the other night my husband comes home and asks if I want to be the cool mom, handing a fidget spinner to me.

I brought it inside all nonchalantly, and I swear this kid was more excited than when we got his computer.  Then Mr. middle child who said he didn’t ever want one, and that they are useless during a meltdown, asked for one about two minutes later.

Honestly, I will be buying one for everyone. I am so thrilled with this simple contraption. It’s very sturdy which is wonderful having three rowdy boys who throw stuff.  It really helps with my oldest and focusing. When he lets his younger brother use it it helps with his as well.  Having extreme anxiety myself I played around with it for a few minutes and was pleasantly surprised how engaging it was.

If you’ve been on the fence about getting one for your tiny human, I definitely recommend it! I’d suggest getting a metal one (but plastic would be ok if you’re worried about something breaking) just not as durable I would assume.  My husband bought our son’s spinner in store, but there’s a nifty link at the end of this to Amazon for your own. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
